1. Wh-questions + 2. 'who' & 'what' questions
Focus: Grammar fix
Questions are challenging. So, let's go over the formulation of questions with different question words one more time, especially questions with 'who' and 'what'.
Watch the two video lessons and do the exercises in both videos several times.
If you have difficulty formulating questions when you speak, it is a good idea to write down one example from the lesson for each question word. Then, formulate a similar question yourself.
Creating your own example of a grammatical structure is a great way of making it reflexive in your speech.
Focus: Dictation
Let's end the week with a dictation to see how well you hear the structures you've activated this week.
Follow these steps:
- Download the ZIP file.
- Listen to the complete Audio once without looking at the PDF transcript.
- Start the Audio again.
- Listen to each sentence two or three times, stop the recording, and write down the sentence.
- Move on to the next sentence.
- When you've written the whole text down, compare your script with the PDF transcript.
When you feel you have fully mastered questions words and question forms, take the quiz.
You need to get a minimum score of 80% in each quiz to receive your Certificate of Completion, so repeat the quiz until you score above 80%. You can take each quiz up to 10 times.
Well done for completing Week 7 of your studies!
The lessons are naturally getting more challenging. Take your time completing the lessons.
It doesn't matter if you're behind schedule. Go at your own pace, and stay methodical.
Remember the three things that are ensuring your success:
- Being focused when you're studying
- Being relaxed when you're watching / listening to 'real world' English
- Revising regularly by using your own notes and the audio downloads
