Welcome everyone! I’m so excited to start our journey together today!

But first, a few reminders:

1. Before you do the first lesson:

-       Read the 'Introduction & Course guide' section.

-       Watch the two introductory videos in the 'Bonus' section.

-       Download your bonus ‘English Sound System’ audio file, and save it to your mobile device.

2. The key words for this Bootcamp are ‘interest’ and ‘focus’.

Let me explain:

Almost all of you have watched my video lessons on YouTube.  Many of you have also done some exercises on the Anglo-Link App, but ...

-       Were you interested enough to take notes when you watched the video lessons?

-       Were you focused enough to listen and repeat the recorded sentences carefully out loud several times?

I’m guessing the answer for most of you is ‘no’, or ‘not every time’.

I’ve been there myself as an English student: I learned lots of grammar and vocabulary at school and on English courses, enough to pass my Proficiency exam.

But, I didn’t really begin to be fluent in the language until three things happened:

-       I helped my English teacher transcribe a documentary TV series.

-       I leaned about the complicated English sound system on my teacher training course.

-       I started teaching English: Now I had to share my learnings with others.

And now, I’m really excited to take you on the same journey that led me to fluency.

If I could do it, you can too!

So, step into my role: Imagine you’re an English teacher, and that every lesson you complete today is a lesson you want to share with a student the next day.  You would be really interested and focused, wouldn't you?

3. The starting level of the programme

As you’ve seen in the course guide, we’re going to start the programme at B1 level.

Some of you have already studied this level in my App course. A few of you have even studied B2.

But don’t worry!

That’s the whole point of this Bootcamp: to transform everything you may already know, or you are about to learn, into everything you use naturally.

4. Staying connected

Remember that you have me and your course mates to keep you on track throughout your journey.
